DEFINITION:

INTEGRATED PSYCHOTHERAPY (Knobloch)

Integrated psychotherapy took its shape as a distinct orientation in 1950 and has been deveoping since

  1. through the critical evaluation of all existing orientations, including psychoanalysis and behavior therapies;
  2. embracing and coordinating individual, family and group therapies, and psychotherapeutic community ;
  3. using both verbal and non-verbal techniques, such as psychodrama, and original technics of psychogymnastics (psychomime) and guided abreaction;
  4. its theoretical integration is based on the extended theory of smmall social groups, which overcomes the fallacy of intrapsychic-itnerpersonal dichotomy, and finds its support in the recent fidings of evolutionary psychology.
